Privacy Policy

This policy explains how the Cube Coach app (“魔方教练” in Chinese, “the app”) and this website handle information. “We” and “us” mean the developer of Cube Coach.

The camera

The app asks for camera access only so it can scan your cube. While you scan, it reads the sticker colors from the live camera image on your device. Images are not saved to your photo library, not stored by the app, and not sent anywhere. You can say no to camera access and enter your cube's colors by hand instead. You can change this at any time in iOS Settings › Cube Coach.

Information kept on your device

To work, the app keeps a small amount of information on your iPhone: which lessons you've finished, your solve times, your settings, and whether Pro is unlocked. This stays on your device. We can't see it. Deleting the app deletes it.

iCloud

If you use iCloud, the app can sync your progress, solve times and settings between your own devices using Apple's iCloud key-value storage. This data is stored in your iCloud account under Apple's privacy policy, and we have no access to it. To stop syncing, turn off iCloud for Cube Coach in iOS Settings › [your name] › iCloud.

Purchases

Cube Coach Pro is sold through the App Store. Apple handles the payment. We don't receive your name, your Apple Account, or your payment details. The app only asks Apple whether Pro has been purchased on your Apple Account, so it can unlock the content, including when you restore a purchase or use Family Sharing.

Crash reports and app statistics

If you turn on “Share With App Developers” in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements, Apple may share crash reports and usage statistics with us. Apple provides these in aggregated or anonymized form and they don't identify you. We use them only to fix problems and improve the app. If you don't turn this on, we receive nothing.

This website

This website has no cookies, no analytics and no tracking. It is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes basic technical information such as IP addresses to deliver the pages and protect the site from abuse, as described in Cloudflare's privacy policy.

When you contact us

If you email us, we use your email address and what you write only to reply to you. We don't share it, and we'll delete it on request.

Children

Cube Coach is suitable for children and doesn't collect personal information from anyone, children included. Parents with questions can contact us at the address below.

Your rights

Because we don't collect or hold personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export or delete. The information the app keeps is under your control on your device and in your iCloud account. If you have any question about your data, including under the GDPR, the CCPA or China's Personal Information Protection Law, contact us and we'll respond.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If a change affects how the app handles your information, we'll mention it in the App Store release notes.
